HELPFUL INFORMATION AND RESOURCES

WHAT IS EMDR THERAPY?

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy is an extensively researched, effective psychotherapy method proven to help people recover from trauma and other distressing life experiences.  It is a process for the brain to heal itself.

EMDR therapy does not require talking in detail about the distressing issue or completing homework between sessions. EMDR therapy, rather than focusing on changing the emotions, thoughts, or behaviors resulting from the distressing issue, allows the brain to resume its natural healing process.

EMDR therapy is designed to resolve unprocessed traumatic memories in the brain. For many clients, EMDR therapy can be completed in fewer sessions than other psychotherapies.

Individual Therapy

Individual counseling is a personalized therapeutic process where a trained professional works one-on-one with a client to address specific emotional, psychological, or behavioral challenges. This supportive environment allows individuals explore their thoughts and feelings, gain insights, and develop coping strategies tailored to their unique situations. Through active listening and guidance, counselors help clients set goals and work towards personal growth and healing. Individual counseling can be beneficial for a range of issues, including anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, and self-esteem concerns.

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a specialized, evidence-based therapy designed to help individuals process and heal from trauma and other distressing life experiences.  Unlike traditional talk therapy, EMDR focuses on reprocessing traumatic memories to reduce their emotional impact and help clients move forward with clarity and resilience.

At Oasis Counseling, we offer EMDR therapy to individuals struggling with symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), anxiety, depression, and other issues stemming from difficult past events.  EMDR is particularly effective for clients who feel stuck or unable to move past certain memories or negative beliefs about themselves.

Important Note & Rates

I don't directly accept health insurance

I prefer to work with you as an individual rather than cater to rigid insurance rules. My goal is to customize our sessions and treatment plan based on your unique needs and goals, not generic guidelines.

However, some insurance plans do partially reimburse for out-of-network providers like myself. If your plan covers that, you can contact them to find out reimbursement rates. We can work together to maximize any coverage you may have.  If this is of interest to you, please reach out and I'll give you a SuperBill for you to submit to your insurance.
